Green EZ plate Intanglio printing(Drypoint)

●Please use 6B soft pencil to draw directly on the green EZ plate .
(The green EZ plate has the characteristics of easy engraving and embossing, and the plate quality has been specially hardened.

More able to withstand the  printmaking press machine).

●Using a  Etching needle  (not recommended for sharpening with an awl or nail) direct drypoint engraving.
●The texture can be made with various embossing tools.
●During the engraving process, you can sprinkle prickly heat powder into the sunken (or directly push in the black ink with your fingers) to preview the engraving status.
●Use fine sandpaper to grind  the needle tip of the Etching needle in order to make the engraving line smoother.
●Instructions: EZ plate is easier to engrave than acrylic board, and it can make lines of different thickness by using the weight of the needle.

●With the addition of embossing performance, and even wood engraving techniques, we can get more various texture for EZ plate.

●Hair-like delicate lines, prickly heat powder can not be filled,  however we can use very thin black water-based ink to fill the line (sunken)instead.Push the ink with finger to fill the thin line to preview the engraving effect.

●Ink is filled with squeegee .
●Explanation: This demonstration uses Hansen water-based ink with dry paper direct print (printing paper need not soaked).

●Water-based ink is more convenient to clean, suitable for teaching use.

●The dry printing of the printing paper should match the performance of the printmaking machine and blanket.

●After engraving, the lines will have burrs and bumps, which can be removed with a scraper, or you can remove them by grinding  with #600 sandpaper.

●Use Intaglio tarlatan  to wipe the ink on the surface of the plate, leaving the ink color in the sunket.
●If you want to wipe the surface very clean, you can use the Lining fabric to wipe the plate.
●The  edges of the plate should be wiped clean. You can dry wipe it with   wet Lining fabric.

●After the wiped plate is registered, place it on the press machine, and then cover it with printing paper.
●Before picking up the paper, pay attention to clean your hands. Contaminated ink will contaminate the printing paper. You can fold the card in half to clamp the paper.
●Note: With water-based ink and dry paper printing, this demonstration only uses general drawing paper for printing, and the effect is as clear.




6.
●Carefully adjust the pressure of the press. Because the dry paper is  pressed, the pressure should be adjusted slightly heavier.

●The plate will be somewhat flattened, try several times and gradually increase the pressure to achieve the best pressure effect.
